Open Pores

Collagen stimulation has natural healing effects on your skin and helps with open pores. By using a combination of heat and cooling from the Morpheus 8 you will find your pores closing with the reactivation of collagen in your skin.

On the day of treatment

  • We will go through your consent form, which will have been emailed before the session to you, and you will then be asked to sign a physical copy.
  • The doctor will then cleanse your skin so that he can assess it.
  • During his assessment, he will look at skin thickness and quality along with the underlying muscles to determine the injection points needed.
  • A tiny needle will be used to minimise any bleeding or discomfort. The target area will be treated quickly.

Our Process

Morpheus 8 employs patented technology that utilises microneedles and radiofrequency energy to create controlled micro-injuries beneath the skin’s surface. This process results in the tightening and rejuvenation of the deeper skin layers while simultaneously providing a gentle resurfacing effect to the outermost layer.

Open pores can range from annoying to damaging. While open pores do not hurt, you may find yourself more prone to acne or clogged pores as a result. The Morpheus 8 uses a combination of heat into the lower levels of your skin to stimulate collagen, which has natural healing effects. This is a non-surgical treatment and typically takes a few sessions to complete.

The addition of Exosomes to the treatment area is unique to The Luma Clinic. Exosomes are a combination of growth factor proteins that act in a similar fashion to stem cell therapy. By combining these biomolecules to your RF microneedling treatment we can increase collagen production by 300%.

  • It is important to massage the treatment area after treatment to ensure the product is dispersed as evenly and thoroughly as possible. Follow the rule of 5’s for optimal results (massage: 5 times a day x 5 minutes x 5 days). Start this process 3 hours after your treatment, or the following morning for late evening treatments.
  • You may encounter swelling and bruising the day after your procedure, which is normal and typically resolves within 2-3 days. To minimise this, abstain from consuming alcohol 24 hours before and after your treatment.
  • Refrain from applying heavy makeup or unnecessarily touching the treated area for 6 hours to reduce the risk of infection. Additionally, steer clear of Vitamin C, Retinol, AHA, and BHA skincare products for 24 hours post-treatment to allow it to settle.
  • Avoid rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours to minimise the possibility of the treatment shifting. Maintain an upright position for 4 hours to prevent unintentional migration of the treatment or an increased risk of swelling.
  • Refrain from engaging in strenuous exercise like weight training or cross-fit for 24 hours, as it may occasionally cause the treatment to move to unintended areas. Stay away from saunas, jacuzzis, or hot baths for 24 hours post-procedure, as the heat can lead to treatment migration.
  • Limit alcohol consumption to reduce the risk of bruising, and avoid sleeping on the treated area the night following your treatment.
