Trapezius Hypertrophy also known as Barbie Botox is injected into the top of your shoulders to give a softer shoulder line and an elongated more elegant looking neck. As the muscle slowly relaxes you will notice the results last up to 6 months.
On the day of treatment
Precare
- We will go through your consent form, which will have been emailed before the session to you, and you will then be asked to sign a physical copy.
- The doctor will then cleanse your skin so that he can assess it.
- During his assessment, he will look at skin thickness and quality along with the underlying muscles to determine the injection points needed.
- The target area will be numbed if necessary and then treated with a microfine needle to minimise discomfort.

The treatment of Trapezius Hypertrophy is quick and painless. It takes from 15 to 20 minutes to complete and you will begin to see the results of this within 2-4 weeks as the muscle decreases in size. The results last up to six months and are perfect if needed during the summer season.
Post-care
- You might experience bruising the day after your procedure, which is entirely normal and typically subsides within 2-3 days. To mitigate this, refrain from consuming alcohol 24 hours before and after your treatment.
- Avoid applying heavy makeup or unnecessarily touching the treated area for 6 hours to minimise the risk of infection. Additionally, steer clear of Vitamin C, Retinol, AHA, and BHA skincare products for 24 hours post-treatment to allow for proper settling.
- Refrain from rubbing or massaging the treated area for 24 hours to decrease the chance of the treatment shifting. Maintain an upright position for 4 hours to prevent unintended migration of the treatment.
- Abstain from engaging in strenuous exercise such as weight training or cross-fit for 24 hours, as it may occasionally cause the treatment to move to unintended areas. Stay away from saunas, jacuzzis, or hot baths for 24 hours post-procedure, as the heat can result in treatment migration.
- Limit alcohol intake to reduce the risk of bruising, and avoid sleeping on the treated area the night following your treatment.
